Fantastic day trip. Went on the 2 hour Schem Creek tour and had an amazing time. The guide was very knowledge and engaging. I would recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors, and wants to see local wildlife.

First of all, our guide Andrew was the tops. He was so nice and so knowledgeable, it made the trip really nice. We had a group of 6, most of whom were beginners. Everyone learned quickly and by the end of the trip, we were racing. Wambaw Creek was beautiful with wildlife and serene views. We saw gators and owls and very pretty spider Lily flowers. I highly recommend!

The knowledge the staff has amazing. Our guide Matt the knowledge he had he must have a degree in marine biology. He knew all the bird but pointed out little crabs and explained that the male have 1 large claw using it for the mating. It was only on our way back did the dolphins appear we saw one by the outer bank area we were at and two in the inlet. We sat for a good 20 minutes watching as they fed on what was thrown off from the fishing boats.

Never made it to the tour. I met up at the assigned time/location for my tour as per their website's instructions. Nobody showed. I tried calling their office, but nobody would answer their phone. I left a voicemail and repeatedly attempted to call, without success. Finally, after approximately 20 minutes, somebody answered. They told me that I should be at a different linkup location. Although I was at one of their regular meetup spots, they couldn't tell me how to get to the location they wanted me and said to try logging into their website to get instructions! The place they provided didn't pull up on GPS. They gave me my guide's phone number to have him talk me into the location, but he wouldn't answer. Finally, it was well past the scheduled start time, so we decided to call it a day. We spoke to the office again and explained everything. They said they wouldn't charge us for the event and we could reschedule. Then they charged us for the event. Terrible experience.

Took the family on a kayak tour ours of Shem Creek near Charleston, SC. We has a great time kayaking alongside dolphins and cranes and other birds. Our guide was great (Haven). Definitely a fun activity.

We had the absolute best time on our kayak tour with Nature Adventures! Our guide Charlie was fantastic—so knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience really fun. We learned so much about the wildlife and the history of Charleston Harbor and Shem Creek, which made the tour even more interesting. We saw tons of wildlife including beautiful birds and even dolphins. The scenery was stunning and being out on the water was such an amazing experience. The kayaks were excellent—very well maintained and easy to use, and the entire staff was truly wonderful from check-in to check-out. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, which made the whole experience seamless. Charlie was the best guide and we highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area or even locals looking for a great outdoor adventure! 🚣‍♀️🐬

We just returned from the Sewee Indian Ceremonial Shell Ring Historic Site and had an amazing time. Teresa was fantastic and full of knowledge. She was very thorough during the safety and instruction portion for my 3 daughters (all under 11). She spent lots of time explaining the different types of shells and ancient pottery to us. The company itself put up with me having to make several changes on the number of people attending and were always extremely polite. Great experience with a great staff. I will definitely be taking a trip with this company again and will highly recommend them to all of my friends.

We had the pleasure of having Ben as our tour guide. It was probably one of my favorite things that we were able to do while visiting Charleston. Somehow, we were lucky enough to be the only ones on this tour, seeing how check-in is 5:30 I could see why. But the lack of sleep is definitely worth it!! We saw so much wildlife, including dolphins, and Ben is so knowledgeable, we got to learn so much on this tour. If you’re in Charleston, you should definitely take the time and set your alarm clocks to be able to go on the sunrise tour.

I participated on the Wambaw Creek blackwater kayaking tour with Teresa. Perfect! Prepare to learn about wildlife, see centuries old Cypress trees, and discover how the tidal creeks were used in the American Revolution. The group was a mix of experienced paddlers and first-timers. Teresa (and the waters!) remained calm and helpful for the entire journey. 100% recommend this distinct Lowcountry experience. I'm planning another trip to South Carolina ASAP so I can go on more adventures with Nature Adventures Outfitters.

We had such a fantastic time on the 2 hour kayak tour with Ethan. If you’re new to a kayak, don’t worry, it’s super easy to pick up and not strenuous. Two hours, we felt, was the ideal amount of time to get out on the water, enjoy the sights, and not be too tired at the end. Ethan was a very good guide; he provided just the right amount of information and knowledge, without being too wordy and overzealous. Some of the best moments, outside of Ethan’s details, were the solitude and quietness of just the oars and the water. Completely recommend to anyone looking to explore the local waterways. And be sure to grab lunch, dinner or drinks after the excursion on Shem’s Creek.

Wonderful experience. Our group was given thorough instructions before starting the tour. Our guide, Ben, was very knowledgeable about the history of the Lowcountry and the fauna and floral. Also, a fun, engaging guy. Highly recommend this tour!

Great guide, beautiful setting, learned so much about the flora, fauna, and history of Shem Creek and Charleston with recommendations too! Took my 7-year-old along and they had a great animal search and find and kept a great pace that was ok for the whole group. Second time with this company and can’t wait to return again!

We took our two children (5 and 8) on a 2-hour tour with a guide, Clark, and it was fantastic. The scenery was beautiful. Clark was so passionate about finding wildlife and neat things to show everyone and was so knowledgeable about the plants, animals, and the habitat - we even saw a manatee. We are learned a lot and had a great time - can't wait to go back!

Our family wanted an activity that was going to be fun, entertaining, enlightening, educational, interactive, and some action. Kayaking was agreed upon by all. Nature Adventures Outfitters has all this and more. Our guide, Ed, was great! Very knowledgeable about history, nature, wildlife, kayaking etc. Over all great family experience. I think my wife could actually get in to more kayaking, yeah!

A friend and I opted for a Thanksgiving three hour swamp kayak with John- our guide from Nature Adventures Outfitters- versus the more traditional approach to the day. What an amazing experience- the Wambaw Creek wilderness is a swamp- beautiful, vast, still, full of life. John was an expert guide providing all types of information on the delicate ecosystem that exists in the swamp...anyone will enjoy this experience. We were the only ones paddling along this creek. Birds and other wildlife were visible throughout the entire trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two plus hour guided tour of Shem Creek and the outlying area. Well worth the money! How good was very knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife, and he had a pretty good sense of humor too.

Very convenient location and right next door to the Shem Creel Inn where we stayed. We are experienced kayakers and chose the two hour Shem Creek tour hoping a guide would be able to get us near wildlife (OK... Dolphins specifically.) While we did not see any dolphins, we enjoyed every minute of our tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took great care of our group. I only gave four stars for the guide pointed out that a shrimp boat was returning and that dolphins should follow it in. He didn't show any urgency in having us paddle in though and actually stopped us. I have to assume there was a reason for that but did deduct a star.

My husband and I signed up just a few days in advance while visiting Charleston mid October 2015. We have only kayaked a few times, but I really wanted to see the natural beauty of Charleston up close. We went on a 2 hour guided tour, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Very glad that we made time to do this during our trip. There are lots of things to do in Charleston, for sure, but this activity was definitely one of my favorites. :)

A very enjoyable experience! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna in the salt marshes. We saw many nesting birds, dolphins, and other marsh denizens. We also paddled up Shem Creek, and heard about the history of the area. The guide and other staff were friendly and helpful. Five stars.

We went with Ed as a guide kayaking on Shem Creek and would recommend this to everyone!! Ed was knowledgable about the sea life and the history of the region. He took us at a good pace around the creek and to the pelican island--we saw loads of birds, fish and dolphins.

We had a great time on the tour with Ethan. He was full of information and it was a lot of fun. We didn't see any dolphins, but it was a beautiful day. This was my first time kayaking and would do it again. The crew was very helpful and it was much easier than I expected.

My friend and I were with Elizabeth for a morning of birding and couldn't possibly say enough wonderful things about her and our birding experience! She was a pleasure to be with, great sense of humor. Rain was predicted for the morning (entire day, in fact!) but she met us there at 8:00, determined we would watch birds if at all possible. Eventually the rain cleared up and we happily birded with her for the whole four hours, sometimes from the car, sometimes doggedly standing in the drizzle and wind, but seeing some great birds. Thank you Elizabeth! We have already recommended you to our local bird club and Audubon Society!

I had an amazing time on the 2-hour kayak tour with Nature Adventures. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the kayaks were in great condition. Paddling through Shem Creek was a delight, with stunning views and wildlife sightings, including dolphins!! Our guide Ethan provided fascinating insights about the local ecosystem. Highly recommend this tour for a fun and educational outdoor experience! It’s an absolute must do while you are in Charleston.
