Highly recommend the 2-hour kayak tour! We learned so much about the wildlife and history of the Charleston/Mt. Pleasant area from our guide Matt. Although we missed the dolphins, there was tons of bird activity and even a few manatees! We took a Saturday morning tour and the water was pretty calm with a few boats passing by. By the time we returned at noon there was some more boat traffic, but Matt did a great job navigating the group.

We had an amazing time at a CSR with Nature Adventures. Loved our time helping the community and getting close with all the volunteers.

Just came back from a terrific 2 hour guided kayak tour with Eric. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about Shem Creek and the environment. I'm not a birder myself, but totally appreciated his ability to point out so many different birds, which made this tour so great and interesting! The last time I kayaked was probably 12 years ago, but Eric made sure I was comfortable and I had no problem. I would absolutely recommend signing up with Eric and would go back again! A great time!!!

The weather was perfect. The water was perfect. The nature was perfect. Jay, my guide was a blend of rockstar historian, naturalist/educator, kayak instructor, buddy and comedian. He kept his eye on the water, my safety and whether I was OK, while all the while keeping our small group moving forward. It was a delightful way to spend a Saturday morning (as a lone girl traveling) in the Charleston area. HIGHLY recommend. Will be going back with my 13 year old son in tow.

We ventured up the creek for a couple of hours with Josh, a very clear speaking and well informed guide both in terms of the river's wildlife and history. A section of the route beneath the low hanging Spanish moss was fun. No dolphins but Josh tells us that your chances of spotting are 50/50. The booking and check-in processes were first rate and there was free parking contrary to expectations. The entrance to the site is easy to miss off the freeway so approach slowly. Perhaps a bit pricey but then everything in the US is.

I did the evening tour with my wife and we both really enjoyed it. Our guide was a marine biologist so he was able to provide information about the surroundings and the wildlife throughout the trip. We paddled all through Shem Creek, along the commercial and residential areas. The ride was peaceful and fun and 2 hours was just the right amount of time. We saw lots of dolphins and wildlife, as well as beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this tour operator and the guided tour.

Our tour guide, Eric, was excellent, and despite a mistake booking the correct date, it was way to fix with a phone call within 24 hours.

What an amazing experience! I went with my 4 children and mother. As soon as we began the guided tour, we saw dolphins! It was such a breathtaking experience. The tour guide was great. Very patient with one of our kayak groups from my family who were having issues. The tour guide was also very informative of the historical information he gave throughout the tour. I would 100% recommend this to anyone near Mount Pleasant, SC.

We loved our kayak tour on Shem Creek with our fabulous guide, Charlie. We saw a mama and baby dolphin, brown pelicans and a host of other birds in the creeks and harbor. My teens enjoyed hunting for shark teeth on the island we stopped at. All and all a memorable experience and truly a highlight of our time in Charleston. We also appreciate the outfitter's flexibility allowing us to re-schedule when the weather didn't cooperate on the day we had originally scheduled.

We took the Wambaw swamp 2 hour kayaking tour with Will as our guide and had a phenomenal time! The swamp is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! The cypress trees, some as old as 1600-1800 years, were so cool. We saw about 10 alligators, so be prepared! It was awesome. Also saw turtles, goldfinches, and egrets. Will was super knowledgeable and a great guide. Lots of bugs, including ticks, so maybe use some spray, and take a hat! I had never kayaked before but took right to this.

We rented a tandem kayak & went on the Wambaw Swamp Wilderness kayak & canoe trail. It was amazing.... Saw alligators & several different types of birds too. The water was super easy to paddle & the kayak very stable & comfortable. The reflections in the water were beautiful. Im sure the guided tour would be just as great if not more so with the added information. We chose to rent & go our own way since we had lots of prior kayak experience. The guided tour would be perfect for those with little or no experience in a kayak or canoe. Great place, friendly staff... I highly recommend this place to experience something different & wonderfully in the area.

We had a great experience on our kayak tour. Our guide Clayton was so knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend for families. Everyone on our group loved something about our adventure!

Jay was a great guide. He explained quite a bit about the local wildlife, plants, and geography. The kayaks were solid. And Wambaw Creek was beautiful. Definitely recommend it.

Bryson was an excellent guide and took us an enjoyable paddle on Shem Creek. We saw several groups of dolphins swimming right beside us. We paddled out to the bird sanctuary and saw many brown pelicans and several newborns. Bryson gave us an excellent overview of the Charleston skyline and the history of its forts. It was a really nice way to spend a morning.

We had a late afternoon trip with a guide named Ethan who was really patient and knowledgeable and really enhanced the trip for us with information about the marsh and all the wildlife, this was clearly a good time to visit because it was very peaceful. We all really enjoyed this experience

We took a group of 20 active seniors kayaking on Penny Creek. It was one of our best events ever. Kayaking with a group of friends with experienced guides, well informed, patient with those of us who aren't kayak experts -- so a good day was had by all. Would recommend anyone thinking about kayaking to check with Nature Adventures. Great job!

What an amazing adventure!! Our tour guide, Jacob, was extremely knowledgeable. He made us feel completely at ease with kayaking. Everyone we met there was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend this company!

Although it starts off in a busy place among restaurants and boats, it was very peaceful once we got into Shem Creek Park and paddled along the grasses and a few very nice houses. For a very hot summer day, our choice of the 6:30 pm guided tour worked out well. The closer to sunset the nicer it became. In the busy Shem Creek area along Shrimp Boat Lane we did see a few dolphins. Our guide was very nice and went out of her way to help those who had any trouble maneuvering their kayaks.

We enjoyed our guided tour with Ben. What a knowledge group of people!!! Got to see some dolphins playing in Shem creek!

Had a fabulous time! The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area! Saw lots of wildlife, will definitely do again!

Elizabeth and Jay were great! We had an unusual request to paddle out to Crab Bank in the middle of January to see a rare bird. The temperatures were in the high 30s and low 40s with light winds, and usually those temperatures would prohibit a trip out. We dressed accordingly and Elizabeth accompanied us. We timed the trip just right with the tide. Elizabeth even loaned a pair of her neoprene boots to a member in our group. We saw the bird (Snow Bunting) and made the trip out and back safely. We highly recommend Nature Adventures on Shem Creek!

The trip got 1 hr delayed and we waited in the sun. We had to pay $4 just to apply sunscreen and they didn't even offer a discount even though the trip was 1 hour late. One of the two guide was very friendly and informing, but the other talked for such a long time about irrelevant things.

The kayak tour was great for my first time kayaker wife and myself. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They were extremely accommodating to my wife and I as we came on the wrong day (my fault) and they fit us in with a tour later that day instead of making us come back the next day! Would highly recommend for those visiting or locals who want to see dolphins or manatees on Shem Creek!
