Cool, informative and a great workout! Our guide was so friendly and helpful! Definitely would go back! Learned a lot about the wildlife, saw some dolphins up close and personal and even found some shark teeth as a memoire!

I bring Military groups here for paddle boarding and kayak tours. The staff is always so kind and energetic, always making my groups feel welcomed! The military groups always come back ecstatic to tell me they went back with their family to board/kayak when visiting. So relieved they are comfortable with this company while being here during their duty station in Charleston. Thank you, NAO!

Took my dad for Father's Day on the 2 hour Shem Creek tour. Jim was an awesome guide, very knowledgeable and experienced. We had the wind and tide against us, but he made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. His commentary on local wildlife and the area in general was great. My dad and I loved it. Two hours is a good tour length to see if you like it or not...I plan on going back for much longer next time!

Kathy was the absolute guide. She was very understanding and accommodating with my son that has challenges due to his autism and anxiety. The tour was wonderful and interesting to see all of the wildlife and history. We would definitely do it again.

Easy paddle for the whole family. Matt our guide was very knowledgeable about the marsh ecosystem.

We did the 2-hour paddle from Shem Creek to Crab Island. Our guide had a group of 8, 2 families with teens and tweens. Some experienced, some not. Experienced paddlers might want to opt for the self-guided tour or perhaps a private tour that can go your faster pace. With a group of 8, you can only move as fast as your slowest paddler. Our guide did a good bit of explaining, educating and story telling along the way. Only those closest to him could really hear everything, but that's ok because some folks just want to paddle. : ) My family kayaks 2-3 times each summer, but 2 hours was the right length for us. Anyone under 13 must ride in a 2 person kayak with an adult. At first I was annoyed because my 12 yr old can hold his own paddling on a river, but this was different. In the creek we were dodging boats, and then in the harbor there were constant waves. There is a reason that every kayak company seems to have this age rule!

Really knowledgeable guide, and a great way to get an introduction to Charleston on the first day of your trip. We saw SO many dolphins up close. Ethically, PLEASE do a tour like this instead of getting a horse carriage tour.

We took the Shem Creek tour and had a wonderful time! Our guide, Bob, was excellent and had a special treat at th end of the tour. The kids loved it!

Myself and my partner enjoyed a really chilled out 2 hour tour with Caroline who was extremely knowledgable on the local ecosystem, took photos of us and helped us find shark teeth. Shem Creek is an amazing place and this was the best way to see it and an added bonus was sharing it with a dolphin.

My husband went along with my desire to take a kayak tour this week while staying at the Shem Creek Inn. The tour was both informative and relaxing. You can’t beat two hours on the water on a sunny day. The only down side for me was that we spent too much time cruising vs paddling.

A friend and I opted for a Thanksgiving three hour swamp kayak with John- our guide from Nature Adventures Outfitters- versus the more traditional approach to the day. What an amazing experience- the Wambaw Creek wilderness is a swamp- beautiful, vast, still, full of life. John was an expert guide providing all types of information on the delicate ecosystem that exists in the swamp...anyone will enjoy this experience. We were the only ones paddling along this creek. Birds and other wildlife were visible throughout the entire trip.

My daughter and I were fortunate to have our guide Cindy . Everone had cancelled due to the weather and our experience was extraordinary. It was my maiden voyage kayaking and Cindy explained what to do in such a way that helped to build my confidence. We cannot wait to book another trip and highly recommend this outing regardless of your experience!

Amazing experience! This was our first time, and we did the two hour tour in a tandem kayak! It took some getting used to but overall it was really nice.

Our guide ( Charlie ) was terrific - funny , knowledgeable and pleasant company for the five of us. My daughter gave me a very hard time about leaving only a 16.25 % tip - so Charlie - I will make up for it when I do the Francis Marion guided tour. ( please send any other info ). Also - the shore crew were good people. Thanks again.

We had a great time on the 3-hour Wambaw Creek. Teresa was our guide and she was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and environment. I would highly recommend her as your guide.

Great time kayaking. Dan was a great guide. Extremely knowledgeable on marine life. we saw tons of pelicans and dolphin. Will definitely go again!

Fantastic chilled out guided kayak tour of Shem Creek (by Caroline) I was expecting a tour with other persons but it turned out just the 2 of us so was a pleasant surprise! Learned a lot about the local wildlife and were lucky enough to see the famous Shem Creek dolphin! Highly recommended!
