We loved our Nature Adventures kayaking on Shim Creak. We did it twice on our trip to Charleston! We were able to see dolphins which was amazing but the even better part was how nice the staff was!

My tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and willing to answer any questions that I had as a beginner. Nature Adventures is highly recommended for those interested in an affordable and enjoyable kayak tour in the Charleston area. From the equipment in use, to the guides and administrators, I have no complaints.

Wonderful Staff! Elizabeth was able to open up an "extra" tour group as the one I requested was already booked solid and my daughter was coming in for the weekend and we wanted to kayak while she was visiting. Everything went beautifully. Caroline was our tour guide. She was so informative filling us in about the birds, the marshes, Charleston, etc. She constantly checked in on us to make sure everyone was doing ok, especially if we fell a little behind her in the group. The location is great, the staff is great, and the weather was great. So what else could I say? Well, we will definitely be back again. It was our second time there, and my daughter's first time. She never kayaked before but Caroline gave us a quick tutorial before getting out in the water. It was loads of fun and we know we will be back again and again. We had such a great time on this tour! Tori was our guide and she was wonderful! Super knowledgable about the wildlife, ecosystem and even some history that I’ve never known and I’ve lived in the area my entire life. It was so peaceful and we would certainly recommend this to any of our family and/or friends..visiting or local!

We went kayaking on a tandem kayak with a guide and it was a mixture of information about Shem Creek as well as the bay as well as little tidbits. Our guide was an excellent birder and pointed out many different kinds of birds in their habitat as well as their mannerisms. He also told us a little bit about the dolphins and a shipwreck that just happened a few months ago. We saw a sea turtle which apparently is somewhat rare. And many dolphins in the creek. We like having a guide when we’re new to the area because they point out things in history about the area we normally would not get if we just kayaked on her own.

We rented a tandem kayak & went on the Wambaw Swamp Wilderness kayak & canoe trail. It was amazing.... Saw alligators & several different types of birds too. The water was super easy to paddle & the kayak very stable & comfortable. The reflections in the water were beautiful. Im sure the guided tour would be just as great if not more so with the added information. We chose to rent & go our own way since we had lots of prior kayak experience. The guided tour would be perfect for those with little or no experience in a kayak or canoe. Great place, friendly staff... I highly recommend this place to experience something different & wonderfully in the area.

Cool, informative and a great workout! Our guide was so friendly and helpful! Definitely would go back! Learned a lot about the wildlife, saw some dolphins up close and personal and even found some shark teeth as a memoire!

We kayaked with Teresa on the Wambaw 3 hour creek tour. Excellent trip and Teresa was a fabulous guide. She shared a lot of nature/animal information and she was very personable with the ability to chat easily with everyone. It started pouring rain half-way thru the trip and she was very calm and even sang a song to make us laugh and relax. I highly recommend her.

I opted for the early morning 2 hour paddle - 8am. GREAT choice!!! It wasn't so hot yet and the traffic in Shem Creek was light. Our guide was fantastic, she gave great information and answered all our questions. We were fortunate enough to see dolphins right around us, watched an Osprey eat breakfast and saw many other birds. I'm an experienced kayaker so the pace was too slow for me -- I would have liked to cover more ground.

My husband and I did the guided tour at sunset of Shem Creek. Jay, our guide, was full of fun facts and knowledge of the local wildlife, plus he was interesting to talk to! The tour was 2 hours long, in my opinion the perfect length to explore the area. We saw a large group of dolphins swim right by our tour and so many different types of birds. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore in the Charleston area! Great value for the money.

It was so fun! They were instructive and accommodating. They gave us a good route to go on and we had a great time with good equipment.

Did the 2 hour tour with Charlie. He was great and so knowledgeable when it came to Charleston history, birds and other wildlife! Saw three dolphins, a bunch of turtles, and soooo many types of birds. Such a great trip.

Dan gave a delightful and informative 3-hour tour to my friend and me. He was a wealth of information about the wildlife in the area, and a charming guide - highly recommend him. The equipment was good/sturdy and seemed well maintained. The front-office woman was incredibly helpful (and patient) on the phone as we had to change our arrangements a few times before we arrived in SC. Dan and our kayaks were ready to go as soon as we arrived, and the tour lasted a little longer than 3 hours, so we definitely got our money's worth. One small but important detail: Nature Adventures sells (under $10) a waterproof, resealable sleeve/bag that goes around your neck, to hold your phone. it's see-through, so you can safely take pictures while kayaking, with confidence you won't get water on your phone. I was able to relax on the tour because my phone was with me, but wasn't likely to get wet.

What a treat! We had a very leisurely kayak adventure. I didn’t feel like I had to work to keep up with the group. We had a great time kayaking Shem Creek and were excited to see dolphins in both the harbor and the channel.

I had the pleasure of taking a kayak tour on Shem Creek and Charleston Harbor. Nature Adventures Outfitters is extremely experienced, organized, and concerned for all customers. They explain the basic techniques, help you in the craft, and push you into the water. They focus on safety to mitigate issues. Our tour guide ED was wonderful. He explained a lot about the creek (Don't Touch those mussels on the walls) and showed us some tiny salt water critters that hide and live in the muck and grasses that live in the ecosystem. Very fascinating. We went to the harbor and viewed the island where birds live and migrate. No people allowed on that island from May-November but on a kayak, we were able to get very close. Many Pelicans! We were fortunate to see dolphins up close. They hang in the creek and scarf up the unusable fish being tossed into the water. Very nice trip with a lot of history, thanks to Ed.

Ben took us out on a sunset kayak tour of Shem Creek, and it was a fantastic experience. His knowledge of the ecology and sense of humor made it educational and fun, and he provided guidance with kayaking skills and the opportunity to explore interesting spots. He made sure that the second half of the tour was more of a float and I particularly enjoyed the period of quiet when the group simply floated a distance and not one person was talking - just taking in the experience and enjoying the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the nature around us. Highly recommend.

Great tour with a great guide,Eric. He is very passionate and educated on the the local bio life. The day was cool and overcast. We went at low tide which is a great times due to lots of birds feeding. Kayaking was an easy, not-so-strenuous activity.

Even though I've kayaked before in a lake back in Illinois, I opted to do the guided tour for this, so worth it, Steve was awesome, teaching us about the history of the area, guiding us all around, awesome awesome experience, sadly today dolphins were in hiding still worth every minute!!!

... of being Pocahontas! In my excitement to go kayaking, my husband and I actually arrived to the spot a week earlier than what our reservation was for. I also didn't really read the instructions apparently, because we showed up at the wrong place. However, when I called the office, they were quick to get a hold of our guide, Andrew, and he gave the okay for us to come out anyway (thankfully he had extra kayaks). We were so thankful for their accommodating, welcoming attitudes and that we got to go out on the water that day! Andrew, our guide, was chill and fun and told us all sorts of cool stories about nature and history and such. It was a beautiful day and I couldn't have had a better time. Fantastic day trip. Went on the 2 hour Schem Creek tour and had an amazing time. The guide was very knowledge and engaging. I would recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors, and wants to see local wildlife.

I had such a good time on my first kayaking trip that I booked another the week after! The first one with Charlie & the 2nd with Matt. Both guides were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable of history, marine life and had us feeling safe in the water. I can't wait to come back! Plus we saw SO MANY DOLPHINS!!! Thank you so much!
