I've been involved in a Meetup that NAO sponsors for many years. Their introduction to paddling has opened up the lowcountry to beautiful new adventures that I'd have never seen without them. I highly recommend these folks!

I have gone kayaking at Shem Creek with Nature Adventures 3 times now and each experience has been incredible. Great service -- the employees are helpful, and friendly. Add that to incredible views and wildlife sightings (dolphins, pelicans, manatees, sea turtles) and this has become my favorite charleston activity. Worth every penny.

A buddy an myself went out on the kayaks did some fishing early morning. The staff where friendly and very accommodating. They were cleaning yaks and all equipment after use. So that was a great sign. The prices where definitely far for the area and what we wanted to do.

Kayak rental closel to downtown Charleston, located across Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge in Mount Pleasant. Helpful friendly staff. We rented a tandem (double) sea kayak for 4 hours. Very affordable. We kayaked out near an island teeming with sea birds. We also saw a dolphin close to our boat and it was amazing to hear it expel water through the blow hole each time it surfaced. We also kayaked up Shem Creek including a branch of the creek that got very shallow at low tide. Group tours are also offered but we enjoyed the quiet of kayaking on our own. Several seafood restaurants in the area for lunch after kayaking.

We rented our equipment there for a buddies bachelor party. The people were very nice and accommodating. Parking can be a pain if it’s busy at the adjacent restaurants tho.

We had multiple encounters with dolphins in the waterway to the inlet. A fisherman then reeled up a 4 ft shark and released it from the dock. The pelicans, cranes and birds were also cool! Great experience with two teenage boys, as a family adventure we will be talking about for years to come.

We went kayaking yesterday and it was a lovely experience! We made a reservation the day before in case it was busy and the gentleman on the phone, gave me information, made our reservation and told me about the card if we wanted one, with 8 rentals you receive one complementary rental. It was great to be on the water and see our home town from this vantage point! We were lucky too as there was a bit of a breeze on the water on a hot day. We checked in when we got there and then waited underneath an umbrella. There we were given life jackets and a briefing on what to expect, the paddling and the map of where things were. When we returned, a gentleman pulled our kayaks in. It was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this for nature and adventure lovers!

Went on July 4th they closed at 3 and we got there around 12:30.it was the perfect amount of time. Going out to the islands was a lot of fun we saw multiple dolphins around the fishing docks. A lot of the area is shallow-around a foot deep so we got stuck at times but it was no big deal Coming back to the direction of the ramp was a little harder. We also went futher up the creek and saw more dolphins there as well. I didn't expect to see so many dolphins so that was a pleasant surprise. Bring water a hat and prepare to get wet as well

My wife and I rented a couple kayaks to tour the area. The staff was friendly and we were able to get the kayak experience we were looking for. We even encountered a group of dolphins. I recommend calling in advance and planning your visit around high tide to ensure you can see the most areas.

We stayed at a nearby inn and tried to hire one double kayak in order to have a nice ride on the estuary. As we enquired about prices, we were surprised at first that the offer would not enable short rentals. The rental was either 4 hours or full day, which for us was a bit much, considering the heat, and that we wanted to have a tour with a child. So we enquired about the possibility of swapping passengers half way through the rental, as we were a few of us. The woman at the office was not very helpful. We had difficulties making up our mind to be sure, and we had to make four trips to the office to get the whole of the information. First, that staying at the nearby Shem Creek Inn gives you a 10% discount. But instead of telling me that such a offer existed, she had me go back to the hotel to find out what the offer was. Then, that after 5:30pm, there is a Happy Hour, that is instead of paying $50 dollars for 4 hours, you pay $43 for 2 hours (I did not find this offer to be so "happy"), and then upon my last visit, when I was decided to take advantage of the Happy Hour, that we would have to pay an extra $8 or $9 (sorry for the memory laps) for each passenger if we were to swap half way through the ride. We had two kids with us who were dying to see dolphins up close and who could not fulfil that dream due to the stupidity and poor service of the woman attending us. In the end, we chose not to hire any equipment from them as they clearly were "taking us for a ride". Very poor customer service, very poor management. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I had an amazing kayaking experience in the Low Country! From spotting dolphins to the exceptional kindness of the staff, every moment was unforgettable. Thank you for making this adventure so special!
